The visit of minister Zhang underlines the good and longstanding relations in the field of accident insurance. In China, a densely populated country, the comprehensive, sustainable and area-wide coverage by social security, in particular in the field of accident insurance is of outmost importance. This includes the development of rehabilitation with the target to keep people in work and to maintain their health as a basis for sustainable social security. A top issue for the Chinese and the German accident insurance is how digitization and new forms of work influence social security. To explore the potential of digitalisation for social security while at the same time analysing potential risks at an early stage, is high on China's agenda and according to Minister ZHANG a major challenge. DGUV director general Dr Breuer emphasised the importance of a mutual exchange and joint collaboration on the topic of digitalization and its effects on social security systems. He further underlined that China's experiences in expanding social security can help when it comes to the question how to design social security and make it fit for the future. Basis for a peaceful coexistence is social security and joint efforts in the field of accident insurance could contribute.
Following the visit to the DGUV, Minister ZHANG visited the Accident Clinic Berlin (ukb) to gain a practical insight into the medical care and rehabilitation offered by the statutory accident insurance.
